Safety Planning Record Sample (510 KB)
The Safety Planning Record document will be used in the approval process for travel to Level "AVOID NON-ESSENTIAL TRAVEL" and Level "AVOID ALL TRAVEL" locations. You will need to meet with the Student Safety Abroad Advisor to obtain and complete the Safety Planning Record document, which includes conducting additional research on risks associated with your destination.
These reports offer information on safety and security, local laws and customs, entry requirements, health conditions and other important travel issues. You are strongly encouraged to subscribe to daily travel updates and to use them as a resource for pre-departure planning.
Sign up for this is free service for Canadian citizens from Global Affairs Canada so government officials can contact and assist you in case of an emergency abroad, such as a natural disaster or civil unrest, or inform you of an emergency at home. If you are not a Canadian citizen, you should contact the nearest embassy or consulate of your country of citizenship for equivalent emergency resources and services that may be available to you.
For emergency help, Canadian citizens can also contact Government of Canada's Emergency Watch and Response Centre in Ottawa 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This service is intended for Canadian citizens only. Non-Canadian citizens should contact the nearest embassy or consulate of their country of citizenship.
